bit of a late update but here are the results;

http://www.pugsport-racing.co.uk/silverstonerace12.html

had a good race with the Puma (which is a super 1600 so has 250bhp!) and nearly had it on the last lap, but sadly didnt so just missed the top ten again, but next time.....!

next race is 21st and 22nd July at Castle Combe

LOL doubt that Puma is 250 bhp, NickC was about 4 seconds quicker with only 225 on road tyres!

very respectable time from a standard engined 306 though!

Looking good as always was going to go to silverstone a few months back as a mate is going to be entering tin tops in his 306 but he wasn't ready in time. Is silverstone just once a year? As would love to pop along as its fairly local and watch the races for a day

Its suppose to be but it doesnt go round the corners that well as was pushing it all the way around Silverstone, it was only having me on the straights! But them Castle Combe lot as nutters around there as they race there all the time, there were 2 Sandy engined 1.4 Fiesta and they were crazy, using the grass and more!

Thanks I am very pleased with how the car goes! And it still has just standard 306 rear shocks!!

I was also very pleased to be within 0.08sec of the Ford Anglia of the guys in the garage next door, as they are always going on about how rear wheel drive is best! yet a £4000 306 with only 178bhp and standard rear shocks can get that close to their times and they have a 2.4 red top Vauxhall lump with just under 300bhp and have spent £40k+ on the car!

Not lending the car out to anyone else are you? There's a similar colour S16 (but looks Ph3 to me from the spotters guide in the programme) racing at Brands this weekend in Project 8 Racing Saloons.

Will pop down to the paddock to grab some pictures for you Smile

Programme lists it as Dan Hughes, I didn't go down yesterday but I'll grab some photos of it in action today.

You coming to Brands next weekend?

Side note, I've just bought Ian's track Rallye, see here: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=150229

@Carl, end game is to go racing with it. I'm aiming for the 2014 season but I've got to finish university first! Having two Rallyes at 20 years old is already a step in the right direction Big grin

@Manthos, based near Tonbridge / Maidstone in Kent but go to University in Newcastle.

At the circuit currently, looks like the 306 was only racing yesterday. Will have a chat with some of the guys at work tomorrow to see if they can give me some photos of it.

Newcastle is a great city!

2 rallyes, good man! I have 2 and a half rallyes! lol

what series are you aiming to race in?

the cscc tin tops is a nice freindly series and normally very little damage to the cars.

would be interested to see if someone has copied my 306! I know the is a more greener on in the castle combe race series, but one almost the same as mine is not good!

No offence at all Carl but they wouldn't have copied yours as you copied the touring car in the first place.

Aiming to start in Trackday Trophy and maybe do a few Team Trophy events at the same time. From there I don't really know, Tin Tops was definitely one I looked into.

You're not going to be happy next year when I've hopefully got mine sorted, as yours is a copy of mine, and mines the real deal! Stop racing your imitation car and get out in the real thing!
