I am planning using a live from my clock ; want the gauge to light up when I put my lights on. But I still want my clock light wired using the same live wire.

Can I just cut a live to the clock bulb and wire in my gauges 12v bulb?
I plan to extend the wires, solder and heat shrink any of the bare wires.

Is it possible? And is it safe? LOL

Thanks

if your gauge is on A-pillar, just wire up via instrument lights resistor. Unless you're wanting gauge to be illuminated all the time, other wise just use radio 12v+ ignition supply

Hi Russ, as said above I wired with the dim/dip resistor so I can dim the gauge along with the instrument panel Smile , did you get my pm regarding the fan controller by the way? as have sent reply but my sent messages folder remains empty Dunno

yeh seems like people have been having that issue dave, got it fine

Rallye doesnt have dimmer switch LOL
shouldnt be too easy to get one, pretty sure i seen the empty plug in dash (which my other 306 uses)

my gauge is replacing my RH centre console vent
only want it on when i need it so if i could get it on with instrument lights via that instrument lights resistor that would be ideal

thanks chaps!!

I would bet money there is a yellow wire under the centre console. It comes on with the lights.

you mean a small yellow plug? 2 wires go into it, looks like a live and an earth

i broke my 12v slot a while back, new one i replaced it with.... the wee light didnt fit onto it so i just left plug hanging
