Put an ad for a loom in the wanted section. There are a couple of members who do them specifically for the job you're planning.

Me and my mate want to put a gti6 engine in our 205 as well (h reg 1.6 gti)

Whats the best guide? Smile We were thinking of just keeping the 1.6 gearbox for acceleration (track car)

I've done one of these recently.

Wiring is the 'hardest' bit and that is fairly straight forward. Looms can be bought for £90 if your not confident.

You need to re angle the exhaust manifold. You can buy them done. I cut mine myself and got it welded locally.

I would advise new silicone hoses as using t pieces etc with old hoses is asking for trouble.

Few minor details like master cylinder Clearance (cut the Cam belt cover slightly if needs be)

You want solid mounts ideally as you don't want much movement.

Gearbox choice is worth considering.

It all adds up if you don't cut corners like some do.

I'm using a 1.6 box. You need an mi16 clutch.

Dont use the 6 box! You will only have two choices of forwards direction - straight on and left LOL

You sir either live for the 6 or have a mental retardation to still be repairing this!

The best engine in the world is the vagina, it takes any size piston, its self lubricating, starts with 1 finger, and every 4 weeks does its own oil change. It's just a pity the management system is so fecking temperamental.

Does it affect the tuning circle that much then? With the 6 box, I know It did but I didn't think it would notice driving unless parking

^^ this, plenty of guides on there for the loom (DIY) also all the other bits like exhaust angle...
I'm sure there was mention of the master cylinder having better clearance if fitted differently to how some fit (something about the extended mount fork)

Its bad enough in the 306. The 205 is narrower so even less lock. Zsara vts box is what I had on mine Smile Dont extend the lower fork either - no need. If you are going to do it - do it right!!

mine has a 6 speed on it, and its not as bad as some make out.

only noticable difference is like you said when parking, but even with that you get used to it.
