Arnt the latest in a different tax band, costing more? Why does it matter? As long as its clean and tidy its not going to be much different ________________________________________ Team 'unintentional rat look' |

£260 a year (Band K)I did want one on a 'Y' but due to higher tax and (I am sure Jon will confirm) also not sure I want a car that has spent upto and possibly over a year sat waiting to be purchased/registered buy a 2001 'X' reg at least then you won't have to pay the higher tax but also it won't have spent as long sat-up. ________________________________________ I Live for the 306TEAM CHERRY PINK RALLYE 2008 BMW ///M 320d |

Just buy a bunch of parts from Peugeot and make your own 6, then register it - hey presto! 61 plate GTi6 |

I saw a 52 plate 306 hatchback in a pub car park in the Cotswolds. I didn't know as much about them then and for some time afterwards thought the 306 was produced until late 2002/early 03. ________________________________________ Cherry Rallye SOLD |

There is a big difference between newest built and newest registeredBare in mind that Peugeot stopped taking orders around August/September 2000 and all cars were effectively 'built to order' I have never come across a car built after 1st October 2000 although I believe Thugpuggin may have. All cars on Y reg onwards appear to be built around FEB 2000 and some more before then, and were Peugeot Dealer stock that they could not flog - there are some sutble specfication changes that the very late cars have over these. For the privilage of having a Y Reg and also a lesser spec older car you have to pay more Tax due to Y reg being the start of emissions based tax ________________________________________ GaryCherry Red GTi 6 |

An easy way to spot the genuine late production ones is the locking petrol filler cap. These were only fitted to cars built on or after 4 September 2000.________________________________________ Rich |

They only appear to have had 1 horn unit fitted too. Obviously that's harder to spot. ________________________________________ Black X Reg PIII.VGTi 6 A4212 pt 1 A4212 pt 2 Searching the streets of Bristol for 1.36p/day.Joint Kent Leader |

Yeah, I'd noticed on Servicebox that it says mine only has a single horn. I've never remembered to check when I've been working on the front though! Out of interest, what's the latest production date for a GTi-6 that you're aware of? ________________________________________ Rich |

Recall a W reg I broke had one horn too so was an earlier modification, think of the weight saving. ________________________________________ Black X Reg PIII.VGTi 6 A4212 pt 1 A4212 pt 2 Searching the streets of Bristol for 1.36p/day.Joint Kent Leader |
