My 6's got a poor radio receiption since few months ago, after I replaced the aerial with base and inspected the head unit still no joy.

Fews days ago, when I vaccum the mat and touch a cable under the driver side near the clutch paddle, the receiption changed a bit.

Can anyone tell me what is the cable and box at the below photos? If this cable is an aerial cable, which part it belongs to? From head unit or from the roof aeriel? Dunno

Thanks very very much!! cheers~~~

Open the interior light console by removing the light cover surround ... Inside will be a small metal component sitting under the base of the aerial. This component needs to be touching metal body work. Over time rust can form where the component contacts the bodywork. Radio reception is proportional to the state ofthe contact. Scratch it back to metal and then put some silicon sealer over it to stop it rusting again.

Checked the connection of aerial component inside the interior light console last night. Seems everything is find. My mate told me it may cause by the SONY head unit itself, production failure found in some models of SONY car head unit several year ago.

Anyone heard about this?
