You can take a separate tractor licence at 16, or it is included with the B entitlement at 17 Yes

It's not daunting mate, just find a local hgv training place and go see them when you have saved about £1500 for class 2 then about £1000 for class 1 that's if you can use the theory test pass again, if not then it would be same again.
They will give you your theory test dates as should have it prebooked if there any good, then when you have done that you can do your practical training and test at the end of the training week or days.
Cpc is taken at any time, I have it but it's not needed to deliver these as there not in service yet.
Hardest bit will be finding somebody willing to take you on, I was lucky here it was the first one I rung but it's not the perfect job mate I'm away a lot and my time has gone but I love the job, gotta be better than having to unload at other end in the cold weather

Thanks Smile Yes finding someone to take me on would be the big issue but my Dad is good friends with three people that work for a local haulage firm and he also knows the onwer so that is a possibility. Yea I suppose it is not the most glamourous of jobs but its that or getting a job with my Dad at First Great Western but even then CPC could come in handy as I may look into getting a job on the buses then progress. Only time will tell. I just want a better life I hate what i do now I barely scrape £200 take home a week! I want another '6 amongst other things. Sad

Go and watch some Truck Racing next year then, 100mph round Brands Hatch or Thruxton is AMAZING... I love it! Hyper

hi I'm on my way to collect another fh right now, I took 3 fh500s yesterday and seen a scania r630 or 680 can't rembember but it looked vary nice? Driver said he rarely changed gear.

I plan in going to watch some truck racing next year, kids will love it, I must find time to see some!

Is it normal for them v8 twin turbo scanias to sound really deep and lumpy?

Worth it, kids will love it and they get in free. Plus adult tickets to raceday are only £17 in advance weekend is £21 in advance iirc price may vary slightly but cheaper than BTCC.

Edit: Brands Hatch is a MUST, went on the 30th of October! Really hectic but the atmosphere was EPIC!

I like it, if you change the photobucket settings to thumbnails they will be much smaller.

It must drink a lot of fuel, fuel is going up 3p in January.

it used no more than a regular 460 fh tractor, it would probably use less with a load as it wouldn't be trying.
I can't change pics size as I'm in the phone and can't see how too do it on Photobucket??

passed my lgv1 twenty years ago and have used it once!! will use it again when the van packs in maybe. 100k for some soap dodging trucker, i cant see too many if them being soldLOL
wish i could get excited about trucks but driving on british roads is such a chore all the appeal of the open roads left me some years back and the thought of dragging an extra 40 ft around on my ass is a horror story.

I'm taking a fh to Inverness tmmrw, does anybody know a good route I can take that isn't boring?
A way I can go 56 mph but only if I try, I went to Glasgow today and it was a pretty boring drive, I expected twisty mountain and country roads which is how I'd like to get to Inverness, I noticed loch ness is very close so I thought id call and have a look what all the fuss is about.

you may well go up the a66 then, dont like the road personally too many twats driving like pricks and signs telling you every 100 yards how many people have died this year ....lovelly
just stick to the main roads, probably snowing or p*ssing it down up there anyway and the scenic routes always end up blocked by some kamakazee polish/romanian trucker twat that has side swiped another olden off the road

.......Dinnington as in the little village just outside Doncaster, lived a few miles down the road for 90% of my life and never realised there was a track there, i'd have thought Donington would be a better venue Whistle
