Hi all need some advice.
The problem is i bent all the valves in my old engine last week so ive just swaped it for another that i bought off ebay.
I was told it has covered 78000 and it was removed from the car over a year ago and dry stored.
I fitted it and it started first time no problem, the thing is there is a lot of whining noise comming from the cams i think. Its not tapping and some times it stops but only for a few seconds.
Ive chaged the oil and it is no different.
Ive done a serch before anyone says and all the topics are different to my symptons.
this noise is not affecting power.
any ideas ?

also my rev counter has stopped working?

Nope not the above or the alternator.

Been for a fast drive to night and it stops when the engine is really warm but then slowly comes back.
