Well my nice shiny 4S turned up today and that location services is not allowed to be changed, thanks Rich E. Another question Rich, can you locate a iPhone if its been turned off?

the location services can't be changed Unsure must be a network thing cos i can turn mine on my 4s on and off [on orange]

Thats pretty shit then. Might send Apple an email, when the phone is locked with a password i should not be able to be turned off. So can be tracked till the battery dies.

Haha you know what I meant.

Yeah battery out but nobody will carry the small screwdrivers to do it on them. All I mean is so it gives you 10-15 minutes to use that find my iPhone app to trace it.

Not saying you would always use it, say if you were mugged with a gun, but in my case 10 lads drunk manage to locate it I no doubt would of got it back that night.

ok heres a question for Rich or anyone who may know... after doing this it blocks new apps from using location services and blocks any changes being made to location services, but why does it also block reminders from using location? try setting a reminder to remind you at a location and it wont let you?

I think it's a bug, as location based reminders can still be set through Siri.

There's an iOS 5 update due out in a few days, so perhaps there'll be a fix with that.
