The little swivelling thing that levers the gear linkage - can it be unbolted and changed easily? Seem to remember there was some kind of cap thing over it, but no idea if it can be removed.

So that metal cap thing just pops off the top does it? I've somehow managed to lose the ball from the bracket, which is making for a somewhat wobbly gearstick.

ahh yeah that would do it LOL indeed the cap just pops off with a small screwdriver.

I'm quite tempted to find a spherical bearing that fits inside the cylindrical bit on the long gear rod and weld on something to fit the bearing on the quadrant, should take out a lot of play Smile

But that means getting under the car and measuring stuff, have a spare quadrant I an weld up mind.

Hyper shiny bits!

Something i've considered tbh, feels to be a fair bit of side to side play in the gear stick

the lower short gear rod keeps it there.

Owain, I wasn't intending on doing anything as complex as pictured above LOL:

I had some on my old GRP A 306 that were mounted onto the engine block. This meant that the gear linkages moved with the box and stopped it pulling it out of gear if you had excessive engine movement. Worked brilliantly. Not sure if it was a genuine GRP A peugeot sport part of if the guy I bought it off had knocked it up himself.

Yes, ridiculous I know.

It's like back in around 2005 fuel pump relays were like £12 from Pug, nowadays they are nearly £30. Shock
