Fitted my new lightened flywheel and everytime i start the car i get a metalic noise! Never had this with my first flywheel and really want to know what it is. Have you checked the locating dowels on the starter motor and bell housing?It may be worth cracking off the starter bolts, and just make sure it's sitting comfortably and not binding on anything. I can't recall how many dowels it locates with, but if there's only one, there may be some room for movement with regards to mounting position, it would just be worth checking. I can't understand the problem myself - it's a problem i've not encountered before (and 10's and 10's of these flywheels have been successfully fitted). I am more than happy to look at the flywheel and get it inspected by the manufacturer if you can't get to the bottom of it. Sorry, can't really tell from sticking the two posts together - has someone actually figured out what the problem is? Mate of mine has this noise and having bullied him into getting a rich_w one I'd feel a bit responsible if it's being damaged every time it's started.________________________________________ Membership expiring soon, get in contact on our new little forum project. |
