Alrite all,

Cut a long story short me and the mrs are moving in together next year, i think after nearly 8 years together it probably is time Sad
So anyway we are thinking about getting one car to cut costs etc.
Budget is about £4-5k without borrowing and the only car that we can seem to agree on at the moment is the Renault Twingo, only the GT as the 133's are out of budget.
My curveball is the Nissan Cube, shite interior but i think they look quite cool are spacious also running costs not too bad.
Her's is either a Smart fourtwo or a Pug 107, neither appeal to me at all so wont get a look in.
Any other suggestions for a smallish cheapish car as off the top of my head i cant think of anything good.

There are literally thousands of cars you could buy for £5k. Just look on Autotrader. You don't have to buy a weird looking 3 cylinder diesel shitbox.

Fiesta Zetec s TDCI

Look nice, tidy interior 30 quid a year to tax and mid 50's mpg from them.plus they seem to holding their values well

Volkswagen Polo TDI Sport

Built to last, cracking 130bhp engine just like the fabia and a set of funky dash clocks!

Skoda Fabis VRS

Much the same as above but not as pretty and has a silly white interior

or a total curveball

Volkswagen Lupo GTI

One of the best small cars ive driven!real fun handling, lovely inside and rock sold prices so you shouldnt lose much when selling

Fabia VRS is a great shout but for God's sake change the seats when you buy it. My brother has one and being a passenger in that car is about as comfortable as having a cactus shoved up your arse.

My mates got a nissan cube, the amount of people that stare and point and laugh, could because they think it looks shit though.

Seem good on fuel, pretty comfy and you dont see many about. Road noise is fairly loud on the motorway though. He's had it about 5 months and is really bored of it, its by no means a drivers car lol. I would get somthing else for the price.
