Hello people,

I am meant to be going to a trackday on Sunday and I have Toyo R888's fitted and its meant to be raining.

I have got a set of Cyclones now, but need a set of tyres. Does any one have any for sale? I would need them before Saturday morning though so I have chance to get the tyres fitted.

Long shot I know, but thought I would try here first Smile

I assume if they are up to temp, they should be ok.

When I used them on the road the other day though and got caught out in a downpour, it was awful. Like driving on ice Shock

Oh yeah hit standing water and you're basically dead, but it's worth it in the name of a trackday. What track you doing?

Laugh

It's an airfield trackday so shouldnt be too bad, should be able to spin and get away with it, as long as I dont hit another car.

It's at RAF Cottesmore, which is about 7 miles from me. Seems good though, they have an open pit lane track, a timed sprint track and a 1/4 mile strip all at the same event Smile

Fancy coming down?

Can't on Sunday, already got plans. Tell you what - I'll turn up in a Chris Harris kinda way, how about that?

Looks very much like Woodbridge, you should get down there on the 22nd as that's somewhere between us Yes

888's are ok in the wet as long as it aint hammering down. Just be ready to catch the big slide when it eventually happens!

They shouldn't be overtaking on corners then should they? Plus that's what disclaimers are for Yes

Hi Andy,

I did look at your for sale thread and was going to PM you about if you would split the tyres and wheels. I think I am going to go for a road tyre though so can use it on road, and have them as a wet setup for track. R1R's would be good, but I assume they are the same soft compound as R888 and will wear down quickly on the road?

What sort of price would you be after for the tyres only? PM me if needed.

Cheers

Hi mate they are a lot more road orientated than the R888, im not sure if they are on the same compound but i dont think its quite as soft, so you should see quite a bit more use but would need to check this to make sure.

Would prob let the tyres go for £190 for the set mate.

See Here they are in the same category as the T1Rs and other road tyres so I am assuming they have a different compound to the R888s or they wouldn't be selling them as a road tyre.
