Ok so as some of you may know, i went out and bought an 02 jag x-type 3.0. But i insisted ok keeping the six...

Well it turns out keeping the six was a good idea, while driving along a tapping noise was audible and just got louder and louder until it sounded like this

Haven't had a chance to be able to get myself down to the garage to get it looked at yet but that sounds to me like something in the bottom end... I have owned this car for a week and this is the sixth problem i have had with it. Reversing lights inop, tapping from front right wheel, seemingly faulty map sensor, radio screwing up and finally the bonnet jamming closed and release catch refusing to work after this video was taken.

Just thought id let you all know, to see if anyone could possibly identify the sound? Dunno and that my life sucks.

Lucky i kept the six as its what's gonna be ferrying me about for the next few weeks by the looks of things!

**Edit** The video is pretty loud so i'd suggest turning it down a bit if its late!

Yeah checked it over, well to an extent, drove well. Everything was good. Been told that putting gearbox oil in the engine could quieten the noise, if he knew what was wrong? I can't believe all these things have happened. I want to sell the thing but I doubt anyone will pay over £1000 for it or even buy it at all. Tried to do something sensible, buy a family sized car and it turned around and bit me in the arse! Sad

Cheers mate. I didnt intend for the jag to be that cheap, just wanted something with a decent pace which was fairly nice to drive and sit in... it was easily affordable... The fixing of it wont be though. Sad

Yes i know that sounds ludicrous, but if he was intending to sell a knackered car then he would do anything within his power to hide that fact. I personally have never really heard of it done but a friend of mine suggested it claiming that he had something similar happen to himself or a friend.

Either way i have said my piece, ill try get it fixed and let you know how it goes.

It's fairly obvious you never checked the car over, no-one would ever buy a car with a dashboard that hideous.

    I'M HELPFUL.
