Back in the day I had several fun years of GTI-6-ownership before selling it to fund an S1 Elise for a few years. Then along came set of twins and the fun-budget took a hefty chop and practicality became the name of the game! So after investing in a family wagon and some dabbling with other hatches as second cars I ended up back here a few months ago toying with the idea of going back to a 6 or Rallye for some fun/practical motoring without the depreciation costs and fluffy extras that come with more modern cars. I then happened upon my old '6 for sale 5 years after I'd sold it, but just missed viewing it before Carl sold it. So I kept looking and now I am the proud owner of a lovely red Rallye.

I'm loving it so far and just starting to stretch its legs after the previous owner rebuilt the engine. On the back roads it really is a real hoot and it just feels right to be back in a 306 again! The paint work could do with a bit of love, and there are a few other bits and pieces I'm intending to improve a bit, but mechanically it is in great shape and I will be keeping it very much standard.

Anyway, just wanted to say hello before I start posting daft questions, so Wave

(I have already worked out how do a search though, so I'm sorted with that bit! Big grin )

Will.

Welcome back!!

Are you driving it to work? If so, I'll have a gander next time I'm in.

Cheers

Hi Dean,

I'm driving some days, riding others, so let me know when you're over at hq. I don't need much of an excuse to drive rather than ride!

Welcome!

I was born and raised in Horley! Went to Court Lodge, Sangers, and Oakwood Schools! Moved away from there about 9/10 years ago! Is it still as dull as ever?

Lived in Chaffinch Way and Rutherwick Close

Steve

Thanks all.

Steve, yes we moved here 2 years ago, we're over the Langshott side. It is fairly dull still!
