linky

It's stated to be on 126k... When I sold it back in March 2010 on 140k+

Was a crackin' car though, so there may be a justified reason why it has a lower mileage now...

Just thought any prospective buyer should be aware..

Cheers
Ry

What, like it's been clocked? Laugh

**EDIT**

This'll be why

quote:
Cambelt has been changed regularly (@76k, 94k and 110k) with receipts to prove

So it's way overdue a cambelt if you had it on 140k and the seller's on to a dodgy Roll eyes

Doesn't mentioned the upper strut brace, GrpN lower engine mount, Magnex exhaust system, etc, etc

I've contacted the seller about the mileage.. Was a lovely car to drive at the time though.

I asked him about the mileage too lol he said:
"No sorry you must have the wrong car! I can provide you all details to check with dvla website! All the mots are on thier and they all are correct! Where you've got that from i don't know but its not my car,"

Yeah I received back:

"HI, thanks for you concern, but i've done a status check via the DVLA and they all tally up.

Along with the OLD MOT's with the car dating back to 2008"

So where are all the MOT's from before 2008 then that were with the car when I sold it? Didn't bother wasting my time with a reply, it's not my issue anymore. Shame though as it was the tightest GTi-6 I'd ever driven or owned. Was also owned by an old-skool member on here too before me.

CJM - I can put up a thread if you want, to keep this thread on topic, will it be welcomed though or shunned? I heard a few people are fed up with hearing about jap caps though on here. It's running around 250/280bhp at the minute due to the stage 2 clutch slipping, but when that's changed I should be going back to actual low-boost so around 310bhp.

^ If anyone looks on the MOT database, they will see the change in mileage between. Probably too late at that stage, but I check it myself on cars I want to buy.

    ^ what he said!!!

Why come on here slagging the car off mate?? Its never had any different mileage according to the DVLA!! Your all welcome to check!

I have old reciepts from when dickhead above or "RY" as he's known on here had it! they all are around 107000 miles!! I really don't know where you've got the 140+ mileage from as it doesn't tally with anything i have or what the DVLA database says!!!!

Don't suppose you have the RR printout from February 2010 have you? Would it have the mileage on it?

Yes i do have the RR printout but it doesn't have mileage on it!! I do have lots of reciepts all with the OP name and address on clearly showing mileage between 107000 to 110000 when he owned it!!

I very nearly bought this car when Ryan had it for sale late 2009 / early 2010 and the mileage then was definitely higher than what it claims to be now.

The cambelt was changed by CG Cars in Leicester shortly before Ryan sold it. Give Carl a call as I'm sure he would have the mileage recorded.

Apologies, but what i didn't tell you is that the clocks have actually been changed by the owner before me due a failure, and they are out by around 20k. I like how you call me a dickhead. I wonder why you don't have the MOT's from before 2008 like I had and sold with the car.

Call the owner previous to me as he will confirm. Surprised the car is looking good as the guy who bought it from me was going to use it as a stage rally car for the peak dsitrict. Maybe he decided it was too nice to rally? Smile

Apologies for the dickhead remark! But how can this be? surely the DVLA mot history check would show this??

Also i do have some more mots going back to 2004, not all of them tho.

2004 - 2006 by any chance, and then missing the 07/08 ones? Hmm

To be fair, you might have bought the motor off someone after ry had it who didnt know about or mention the change of clocks. Can't exactly say it's your fault.

Either way though it sounds like the belt is more than a little due....
