Can anyone tell me if this could be the culprit, number 5?

Heater controls work fine and fan speed adjusts as it should. Temperature doesn't change at all though and it's doing my nut in, had to bypass the heater matrix all Summer and it's now getting towards the time where it would be nice to have a bit of heat but not full on sauna-esque atmosphere!

Think my problem lies with the regulator, as seen above, as i've had two sets of controls in the car and there's no difference. I'm actually debating removing the dash tomorrow and having a poke about.

Even with the blowers off the car still heats up ridonkulously, would it be fair to assume the regulator is stuck open and all cabin air is being diverted past the heater matrix? The dash also gets hot to touch too, again i'm guessing from the regulator being wide open constantly?

Makes a change from them NOT working, eh?

Under the bottom of the heater you will find a little motor, this moves when you turn the dial from hot to cold, its either broken or come off like mine did.

Tricky to get to tho.....Got pics if it helps Thumbs up

Please mate, I have an idea where it is but not how it's supposed to fit together. Checked last night and I can't hear anything working when I change the temperature dial so it's either one of the above or not plugged in Dry

How about leaving it on hot, and open the window if it gets too hot? Wink

Have you taken the central facia off at all to have a look? Swear this happened to a mate, and it was just the cable had come away. So when you turn the dial, dial turns but its not actually doing anything as cable is disconnected. Worth a look if you havent already Smile

Cheers mate, but as Mei said it's an electronic dial that adjusts the stepper motor on the heater control flap.

Tried leaving it on hot but it gets unbelievably hot, last Winter I had to drive around with the windows open every 10 mins or so, might have been -10 outside but it was reaching 40+ in the car, so hot the missus stripped down to her pants when we were driving down to Blackpool. Had the sunroof permanently open and it was snowing outside Laugh my ass off

Normally i'd suck it up but with having the wee man I can't do that any more

Nah it's still a problem, it gets TOO hot if you're driving for more than 10 mins. Considering the jobs i'm looking at are 15 - 20 miles away i'd rather not turn up a sweaty mess to start Laugh

Fixed, numbnuts here forgot to plug the regulator back in, all sorted now. To think I suffered all last winter and had to disconnect the matrix this summer all because of one daft wee plug Doh

I got this exact problem but didn't have the dash out at any time. I did however change my carpet so maybe I knocked it Hmm have you got a picture of where this plug goes?

In my projects thread mate, the regulator is tucked away behind the lower dash trim. Quick test for you, turn the blowers on full and switch from full hot to full cold. If you can hear a change in fan noise over the course of a few seconds your regulator's fine. If nothing changes, there's something wrong with the regulator, the wiring or the control panel Thumbs up

But yes, egg on MY face Doh
