Yeah but did you? What I see is a modified car: lowered suspension (that's not a quick fix for most people), loud aftermarket exhaust (buyers after a good example will just think: boy racer), tinted/blacked headlights, etc...

As has been mentioned earlier in this thread, a couple of other examples (Matt and John's cars' IIRC) were practically the definition of 'original'. Buyers will pay a premuim for this. Modifying, even slightly, lowers the value.

Regardless, if you advertise well you may get someone that's willing to pay you handsomely for it: it still looks to be in lovely condition and can be made nice again if returned to standard. Good luck either way. Smile

When I looked at my old r reg in parkers was worth 400 quid. The insurance company looked at cars on auto trader of the same age etc and said 1350 and I got to keep my wheels. He said that parkers guide is far from accurate and to go more on current prices.

I've got all the standard parts that will be given to the next owner with the car so if they want to change it back to standard then its upto them. Plus loads of spares that come with the car.

As Toms said put it back to standard and someone will want it.

In the eyes of a purist its been modified no matter what and that puts alot of people off.also youll recoup some of the cash by putting it back to standard and elling the aftermarket bits

And im sure we all told you to leave it alone iirc Wink

Private poor, sell the wheels and weigh the car in for scrap for that price.

Yer you did all tell me too I did a few subtle mods and then left it there. But I didn't realise I would be selling especially so soon.

And major f*cking about with the rear beam to set it back to standard height.

That would put me off if I was after a standard one, complete can of worms are rear beams!

There ois soo much shit out there and that's why I took my time and shopped around to find one that was perfect like this one. If I won't get what I'm asking for it I may aswell strip it and have it as a track car. When I said this orriginally u guys went nuts as it would ruin a mint car. I took your advise. 6 months down the line and my lovely example isn't worth sod all. Its dissapointing

    Why blame anyone else.

    You bought the car
    You knew it was overpriced
You inevitably have to foot the depreciation/loss

Same as we all do with every car.

Every car is the same. You think my M3 is still making the same money as i bought it??

Bought my old one 4 years ago for £2800 from a dealer and it was a proper mint example with low mileage.

If it makes you feel any better, the guy you will buy a 350Z from, will be b*tching the same argument about the money he will be losing by selling.

Depreciation - it's life. Trick is, to buy something that you know won't depreciate - Not a Peugeot!

Buy a DC2, something with a cosworth badge on if you want relitively depreciation free motoring.

Thats because its a freshly refurbished beam with all new bearings and seals. Paul had two beams, he gave it to you accidentally and kept the good unrefurbished beam he meant to keep for himself by mistake, bit of a bonus for you there Wink
