hi guys, i brought my pride and joy 6 months ago and even though when i brought it i said i was going to be the only owner and never going to sell it on, i have fallen out of love with it and want to give it to a good home where someone will continue to look after it and allow me to get my next toy in the shape of a 350z.
since i have had the car i have carried out a few subtle mods originally i was going to be changing a lot of the car but i took your advise and kept her pretty standard.
suspension has been fully rebuilt using all brand new parts. lowered 40mm, hybrid arb, metal drop links, top mounts and bearings etc.
iv'e black masked the headlights.
new rear disks and pads.
4 toyo t1-rs
magnex cat back system
i'm just about to fit brand new heater matrix.
this really is a great example and it gets a lot of attention. after the few suspension changes it handles like a dream and is'nt too low. its stance is perfect in my opinion.
will come with many spares and everything i have to do with a gti-6

recent pictures

here is the original post from when i first got the car http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=134958
thanks tom

one thing to watch with 350z is if its not had a clutch or new flywheel you will have to fit one and not cheap!!

how much the 6 going for then?

does look nice but as previously mentioned you will never get £2800 unfortunately, my charged one is going to end up going for less than £2k more than your asking price

Read back through the post when I brought it 6 months back people on here were offeriong me more than what I had payed for it the day after I brought it. If I let it go for less that that I have made a massive loss. And you would be silly to let your charged one go so cheap. This is a true mint example with low millage and nothing will have to be done as its all been done by me

you will be looking at 700 plus as we were 700 odd aqt cost just for the parts and you will have labour aswell and vat on top of that if your not able to do it yourself for the 350Z as we just done my mums before we sold it, it had only done 55k aswell.

6's & rallyes are worth f*ck all like unless someone is really after 1!!

Unfortunately it is only worth what someone is willing to pay today.

While it looks a great example, comments like 'I would buy this!' 'if you were closer, I would snap your arm off' don't always materialise outside the forum world, even if you offered to deliver it to them within 5 minutes of typing. It is very easy for someone to say they would buy something, but try getting money out of them whn the offer is laid out on the table is another thing.

£2800 was the going rate for a car in that condition 5 years ago. No disrespect, but that is around what I and most others paid in 2006 for an 8yr old GTi6 with less than that mileage. Seeing as time has passed and other examples have been run into the ground, it will have held some money, I think the £2k opinion is almost realistic, but unless you can hold onto it until next summer, £1700 asking price and preparing to take 15,16 will probably see it sell this side of christmas to the right buyer. Time will tell with this. We have seen so many people hold onto their car on here, and then take half the price on Pistonheads, Ebay etc when they should have priced it realistically to save the hassle.

You also have to remember what other cars are available that have come down in price a lot to take purchasers away from this. £2800 buys an awful lot of car today, and you will only find a real Peugeot entusiast that is willing to pay near that, which probably won't happen tomorrow

Sod it then ill take it off the road and put it in storage. 6 months ago people wanted this like no business. I've spent over a grand on it in 6 months I'm not prepared to have my pants pulled down so someone else can have a really nice car. Ill wait until the prices go up like they have done with the 205. And then sell it. I was prepared to be knocked down. But its a huge loss in 6 months

205 prices have dropped a lot lately actually.

Yet 205 GTi's stand out as an iconic car. My 83 year old neighbour knows what a 205 GTi is. Ask her what the 306 GTi6 is and she would say 'oh, my grandaughter has a diesel version which looks the same'.

106's even hold better money than the GTi6.

Rallye's will probably be more sought after in 10 years, but not as much as the 106 rallye.

Yes you will make a huge loss, you shouldn't have paid as much as you did for it that's the truth of it. Only someone with a passion like you, will pay over £2k for it, which will take time.

Have a nosey at archived FS threads with cars at less than 90k recently. They don't make half of it unfortunately.

Ilooked for 10 weeks to find it it was an amazing find. But now I want to move on . I didn't realise 6 months down the line I would feel like this and want something different but I have. I really didn't think I'd loose so much money either. I know at this current climate people don't have money. but if someone really wants a very good example they should expect to pay more. I payed a lot in the first place as I didn't want a pile of crap.

Whilst I agree you are correct, 5 years ago you would have been able to pick a car up for 2800 quid, it wouldn't have been as good as this one, 2 previous keepers and looks in pretty good nick, in 2007 this would have been circa 3.5k at least if it was with proportionally low mileage for the time.

G-tomi: When you put the car up as a 'look what i have found' everyone went 'oh yeah i would have that off you in a flash etc. etc. etc. but when it comes to money actually appearing and not words, people vanish or as you are getting now, pull you down. I owned one that was lower mileage than this and more desirable to someone who wants a minter because mine was standard. You have unfortunately knocked money off because of what you have 'invested' in the car over the last 6 months. Unless you know you are keeping a car you might as well use 20's to light your late summer BBQ because you NEVER get that money back, take it as a lesson and move on. If you have fallen out of love with it, take a hit and let it go. In 3 months I spent 600 quid on OE improvements to my last one and recouped...... F**k all of it.

It is a very very nice looking Motor and I sincerely hope that you get what you want for it, the problem is that at the moment these cars are just not selling, they are too thirsty and can cost a lot to maintain, depending on how OCD you are Doh The only one that hasn't surprised me in selling like lightning was the Astor that Matt Evans sold a little while ago as it was a very special car and he had virtually rebuilt it from top to bottom.

If there is someone who wants a nice low mileage China with a quirky bit of history, you may see 2k plus for it mate, at the end of the day its worth what someone is willing to pay. Oh and er, Classifieds LOL

Hope it works out for you Smile
