Hiya just about to fit new thermostat to my 6 does it matter witch way round it goes ?does the spring side go nearest engine or pointing away see the one I took out wasn't complete !!!!!!? It was just the rubber ring that was there thx peeps

i dont think it will fit the wrong way, so just fit it the same as the old one.

spring goes inside though, make sure the seal is fitted ok, dont over tighen the bolts+nuts as the housing is only plastic.

some have a small bleed hole in them, place this at the top.

I can't fit it same as old one cos there was only a gasket there the rubber ring ! But new one has a bleed hole on it so as you said I will put that to the top thx for help I appreciate it ; )
