well, if i'm honest, not really a project. but just an excuse to show the rallye off LOL

bought back in may, and only been on the road since beginning of july

only things i've done, is fit a new cambelt and waterpump, standard exhaust, nissens rad, refurbed wheels, some new rallye mats, 'heko' wind deflectors and a very good condition pair of front seats

drives a lot better than my previous gti6 Smug

according to previous owner, it had passed m.o.t 1st time for last 4 years Smile

call it 5 years now. as when i took it for m.o.t, it passed again Big grin

anyhow, since owning, i haven't had chance to give it a really good clean Sad until today Big grin

no future plans for the rallye, as it drives A1 Big grin

enjoy

and for those who might be interested. my new toy Cool

Love Ducatis, don't think you could ever get bored of just staring at it. It would end up on a plinth in my living room Love

so, because i had to take annual leave from work, i decided to do a little work to the rallye.

i'd sourced brand new toyo t1r 195/55/15 tyres off ebay, for the measly sum of £30 each + £6 for fitting (i bought all 6 available Smug)

also, months ago i'd bought a load of genuine 306 parts (just in case), and i'd also removed the rich_w roller bearing wishbones from the gti6 i sold back in june

so the story was, there was an ever so slight knocking from the front end, and on closer inspection i found, not only a worn p-bush on the o/s, but a worn ball joint. so a couple of hours later, i had the new bones fitted

**many thanks to coz-kev for picking up a new ball joint, while on his way for me to rebuild his uprated beam**

now although i had no issues with the rear beam , i decided to rebuild a spare one i had, and swap them over.

on removal of the backbox, i noticed it had just started to blow. lucky for me i had a spare 'as new' one Wink

now most people have different ways of removing the beam, but i prefer to just undo the handbrake cables, undo the 2 rear brakelines and unplug the abs sensors, and of course the 6 nuts holding the beam to the chassis

once the old beam was off, it was clear to see the handbrake cables were shot, and the n/s front mount was split

with the rebuilt beam, as usual, all parts used were genuine peugeot, and i also decided to set the ride height approx 10mm lower than o/e spec

so new mounts, new shocks, new handbrake cables, new disc protectors, new discs and pads were used

once everthing was back together, and brakes were bled, i was very happy with the result Big grin

how the car sits now, with the 195/55/15s fitted

i also had a spare pair of powdercoated yokes for the rear calipers. so they were fitted too

and the only other thing i added, was a new set of mudflaps

just to add. sorry for poor quality photos Thumbs down

and

the 10mm i lowered the rear, was actually about 3-4mm when setting the the ride height using a dummy shock absorber Wink
