That, my friend, is bullshit Yes

It seems to be down to luck. Some calipers seem fairly quiet, others (like mine were) are *so* loud the first time I used them I knew I couldn't keep them like that, literally people look round at you from the end of the road.

I sell a kit for £320 that fits these calipers using 330mm rotors £276 and the brakes won't squeal. Needs 17" wheels though.

Car is fully striped inside, so brakes are a lot louder than they would be on a road carShockWhistle wearing a helmet helps

I have used the same calipers and pads on several different car setups, and the squeel is random!!!

Engine is bog standard, but is on jenveys.

Tarox G88's are the only discs that won't squeal on the standard Brembo setup.

Just get the G88 discs, that way you get no squeal and don't have to go to 16" wheels.

They're not cheap (about £250 a pair) but I've used mine on about three or four trackdays absolutely pounding them and they've lost practically no material whatsoever.

Considering you can just swap them over directly and continue using the 406 Brembos, they're significantly cheaper than the other options.

As already said, squealing or silent 406 brembos seams to be down to luck.

once read that Calipers with 4 equal sized pistons are more prone to noise than other designs.

There are loads of threads on here and the 406coupe club forum, and many suggest that if the calipers are kept clean they are less prone to squeal. There are also suggestions that corrosion behind the stainless steel plates is to blame.

I am upgrading to 310mm alcon discs and AP 6 pots (partly due to the noise)
