Video clicky

Well not looking too good and has already eaten a tyre due to not knowing it had happened and the end plate flew round wearing away a groove in the tyre.

What's the easy fix? Whistle

replacement beam, they really are a poor design compared to the 205/309/306 unfortunately, closely spaced bearings Sad

No need to fit another beam!!

What's happened is the ARB end plate BOLT has snapped. You'll need to drill it out and re-tap the hole with a bigger thread. I find it a pretty esy job but i've done it about 50 times by now.

The ARB seal looks to be okay.

As said easy fix, but I'd replace all the bearings while your there as these beams really do need preventive maintenance.
I'd just Timesert it to keep the original 8mm thread there and it's a stronger fix

Kris B that's been my view but others seem to differ. I know the bolt has sheared so this suggestion seems the obvious one to me from the outset.

This is the current answer, although 3 in situ not the 2 I took the picture of. Holding up well it's been to Tewkesbury and back and still all in place. Cambridge tomorrow...

MOT is due soon so guess it may fail that...

Timesert Confused Must Google that.

Timesert like a helicoil?

i had to use a helicoil on my rear beam... the thread for the rear arb bolt was wrecked.

Timeserts are a steel insert so allot stronger than a Helicoil of which I would never use again, but they do cost more
