had the manofold off to change the starter motor.did that an fired her up. no problems. fitted the gasket today cuz of f*ckin halfrauds messin up my order. now its got irratic idlin... any ideas? had to loosen the throttle cable as it was revvin loud. now bouncin up an down

didnt remove the throttle properly, was in a hurry. tried repositionin the clip but still up an down. seems suss how its just suddenly went. is there an idle control valve on a 6? just gettin used to these cars

Yeah, it's underneath the throttle body, check you have'nt damaged a wire or pulled off the connector or something silly.

this'll sound silly but where is it exactly? electrics are a piece o p*ss but not that clued up on mechanical parts. pickin it up quick but names of parts i'm still gettin to grips. deacribe where it is an i'll be fine

sounds more like you have an air leak on the manifold

were the two faces clean beofre you put the new gasket on?

are all the bolts nice and tight

u mean the gray connector? that was disconnected an put to one side

...uh might just be a bit of a tit...

dropped the middle allen bolt in the engine bay. pickin up another bolt tomorrow. think its just extra air gettin pulled in from the missin bolt?

if thats the problem i'll be happy.....

might break her if not. she got me from the western ilses to aberdeen, cross country, an she's just wantin to wind me up now.

If youve taken the manifold off and put it back on with a new gasket and its missing a fastening bolt then i would say it has an air leak too
