Have my 6 about two and a half years now and have collected the parts for the supercharger conversion since 2009. I started with buying the fitting kit from Rich_W, then a year later the charger from binioz from here and the other things i got from ebay and different shops in UK and Germany.

Just want you to show some pictures what i did during my supercharger conversion Smile
It is already done and i am very pleased with it. Still have to sort some minor things out like getting the boost pipes welded as they are connected with silicone hoses atm. I have gone a little bit different route with the boost piping what you will see in the pictures below Smile

I will update this thread from time to time, there is still few things to do!
And sorry, some pics are a bit fuzzy, they where done with my iphone...

So here are the pictures:

Started to strip down the front end, had the spal fans already fitted last year Smile....

Removed the inlet manifold...

...the alternator, pas pump and things to finaly get to this piece of steel:

Took me about half an hour to get to this:

Have done this with an angle grinder wich worked very very well Cool. Painted it in the end.

Fitted the new inlet manifold, charger bracket with charger and throttel body assembly. Was lucky with the tolerance of the charger outlet and the restrictor ring housing so it could be pressed on the outlet with the help of a 10 ton press and there was no need for welding Thumbs up.
Wish i had done more photos during this process.
PAS relocation was also done. Was a bit of a fiddle and this took me long time to get that finished.

...air filter with crank case ventilation...

Tight fit!!

Thanks, Rich!

some more pics:

Sorting the boost piping out was a bit of a nightmare and took some time but it came out pretty cool. Anyway its a really tight fit. Also spent her a new valeo radiator as the old one was in pretty bad condition Smile

Looking good! Cool I like the lateral thinking with the boost pipes - I did something different with mine as well. Thumbs up

By the way, how would this kind of modification work with the TUV in Germany? I thought modifying cars was crazy difficult in mainland Europe..especially in Germany!

Ah, so you're using a same-side entry and exit on the IC and routing the pipes round the side of the rad?

I like it, looks really neatly done Thumbs up

I dont know if i will get this road legal, cause as you said it is CRAZY difficult here in germany with TÜV. The main reason are the exhaust emissions, cause i have to have something that proves that the car is still in the "euro2" emission class after the conversion. That is not done with a standard emission test what you do with your MOT.

Thats correct yeah, its a really tight fit and i had to cut a little bit of the chassis to get enough space. Its 2,5" (63,5mm) all the way. Cool
But will have to get it welded as there are too much silicone hoses atm. Also i have a boost leak somewhere i think. My boost gauge is only reading around 0,48 bar wich should around 0,6 bar. Maybe the welding will sort that problem. What else could be a reason for that?

Sad that's a shame. Although depending on how the test is done, it *might* be possible to make it pass.. Or have a special TUV engine map Shifty Whistle

I think that the conversion doesnt make much difference to the emissions if you dont get rid of your cat Cool. I could have it tested but this will take around 10 hours and will cost me around £1000 and a 400 miles trip to get to the test center Sad

That was my thought at first, too, but it keeps cool as the air can flow through between the little gap of the grill and bumper. Also i drilled some holes in the grill behind the badge. You cannot see them when the bonnet is closed. Anyway after a good hard drive i touched the oil cooler and its anything else than hot Cool I will show some more pics later Wink

Out of interest for prospective S/C boys, what intercooler did you use?

A lot of people run the boost pipes under the cross member and the pipes scrape the floor on a lowered car

It depends more on whether the cooling vanes inside the rotor are angled or straight.

If they're straight then it doesn't really matter - if you look at a new Aston Martin V8 Vantage, that has the grooves going in opposite directions on left & right side of the car. It looks a bit pikey, but it's how the leave the factory.
