Hi,

The video on the cam belt change FAQ does not work any more.

Also there are no advice on which bolts to renew or keep on the roller and tensioner etc.

I could really do with this video for my cam belt.

HERE

Or could it be my new netbook at fault ?

Cheers

Also after having a good read of the FAQ i found this >

15. Realign timing and insert the 3 pins, these should slide in and out ok. Check tension. If you're happy with alignment and tension you're all done. If not, release cam pulley bolts and tensioner and go again.

16. Finally tighten tensioner to 21 Nm, cam pulleys to 75 Nm and crank pulley bolt to 130 Nm with thread lock. Couldn't find torque for roller so set about 40 Nm."

Does he mean use thread lock on the cam pulleys as well as the tensioner/roller ?

How does the tensioner after being set the correct amount, stay at that tension before doing the bolt up ?

Does anyone know what the roller bolt torque is ?

So as long as the tension of the belt is between 45 and 75 degrees when tightened, will any where between these figures be ok or is it best to have the belt at around 75 degrees ?

Cheers

i wouldnt follow that topic tbh, rather too much bad practice and incorrect info in it, haynes manual covers it perfectly fine as the xu7 and xu10j4r share near identical components

Ok WP ill give the Haynes a good read over.

I just dont have one of those fancy tensioner tools they use. So should i tension at say 70 degrees ?

Ill use thread lock anyways as it does for the fly bolts etc.
