Have been reading through some threads on the forum, and have decided this is the cage to get. Have found cheapest price so far at just above £400.

Does anyone know of anywhere cheaper for a new cage.

Also what sort of price have people paid to get these fitted? And how is it welded in? arc welding, mig.......

I was thinking of having a go myself, I have plenty of patience as i know its not the greatest fitting cage, but im not the greatest welder. (thats what dads are for)

I have scrap cars which i might practicing welding on as unsure on the metal thickness etc.

I know this sounds like a disaster waiting to happen, but im always up for learning new skills. even if it takes me a while.

Thank you
John

I have just ordered one from yb racing, I paid something like 403 delivered. I think its just the mounting plates which need welding in and maybe the door bars.

I'll be using a Mig welder as I don't fancy my chances with an arc welder on bodywork

Read through the FAQ on fitting these, and i want to have a similar setup as this:

Does anyone know if the second cross member could be a door bar welded in?

As the door will have the 400mm and 50mm fixings on either end.

So how much should you factor in to get a cage fitted?

thanks for the pictures, any idea what the length of the cross bars are? As can get door bars which are 1.25 meters long and pretty sure the fixings will be same as 40mm and 50mm
