Hi I have developed a very worrying tapping noise when my engine revs above 2500 revs and it's seems very sluggish Any help would be grateful also puts my mind at rest

Scary tapping & sluggishness = spun bigend bearing Doh
Don't drive it or sit there revving it as it will only damage it further!
Get it to a garage to confirm though.
I'd start looking for a replacement engine IMHO

its defently a tapping but i will check the spark plugs, could it make the noise if say the coil packs went down or am i dreaming a bit to much

looks like no car for a bit then thanks for reply
