I lost my rear, inside drivers side brake pad over the weekend. I have heard this has happened to a few people lately so thought i would lend a hand. It turned out the 'I' shaped slider and split pin was missing. I rang all of my local motor factors and had no luck of getting hold of the parts. I rang peugeot in the end and i managed to get a break fitting kit for £25. Once fitted I also tie wired the pin in aswell to make sure this does'nt happen again. Hope this helps anyone who has the same problem cos the parts took me a few phone calls to get hold of and half hour on the phone to the dealership.

It's usually from putting the slider in the wrong way around, it will fit two ways.

Halfords stock 'em for about a tenner.

ohh... didnt think halfords would sell that sort of thing because all motor factors reffered me to halfords... mine managed to snap in the slider in half, part of it was still there, so lucky must have got mine right way. I have been told it is advised to changed them each time you do a pad or disc change because they do break down over time.

This happened to me recently, although it appears I lost the OSR outer pad. Just got some new pads from Euro car parts (£12 something for 4 pads!)

Does halfords also stock the anti rattle clips ?

I really can't justify £25 for some tiny bits of metal from Peugeot again.

Any idea's of what the kits/seperate parts are called ? Cheers

I tried halfords and unipart, neither stocked them. Wink

The kit from peugeot is not cheap, but it comes with the wire pad springs, slider and split pin for the bottom of the pads, new bolts and a few rubber cover etc.

So all in all not a bad buy really, even if ur left with a few spares...
