Ok so removing the engine and box from my black 6 to replace the bottom end, was just about to pack up for the evening when i remembered i'd left the windows and sunroof open on the car. The whole engine wiring loom and battery were disconnected though so thought i would just chuck the battery back on quick, and do the windows up.
The car had no power to the interior so long story short i ended up re connecting EVERYTHING even engine ecu , ignition module etc etc But the car is doing the strangest thing!

As soon as the battery is connected the ignition module keeps clicking on and off constantly also operating some kind of servo in the depths of the engine near the starter and wont do anything else!

Interior now has power and interior light comes on when doors are opened, ignition goes on to first click ok with the battery light on however every time you operate anything in the car at all the EML light and oil pressure light come on even if the ignition is off. Ignition module then cuts off again completely and you have no power again! its mad! Everything is connected up now even earths etc, even tried another battery! Checked the emergency cut of switch and thats fine, even tried bashing and re setting it...
Could i have upset the ignition module? If you disconnect the bigger of the two engine wiring loom plugs from the n/s wing the clicking etc stops but no power at all then Sad

Any ideas guys i'm stuck!! :'(

i have the same sort of issues except mines not a 6 i replaced engine and did the whole reconnecting thing i get the same as you except the noise you refer to i found to be the stepper motor/idle control. i have no ignition on 3rd point i get 2 green relays in the car clicking but no ignition. i have the key pad immobiliser though which appears to still work and have check all the same as you. i have power to interior too but no ignition. if you manage to figure it out could you let me know and if i do ill let you know if i have to ill get a sparky out on her. if that fails i might just have to torch her lol

Hi sorry i figured this out weeks ago lol, when i had reconnected the engine wiring loom i had only hand tightened the bolt for the earth strap that bolts to the n/s inner wing. Therefore though it was contacting there was a lot of resistance across the contact so nothing worked. as soon as i tightened up the 10mm bolt everything sparked into life again Wink
I forgot i hadnt fully tightened it properly,

If i were you i'd remove and clean up all the earth points you can find and re fit them. The one on the top / rear of the gearbox is usually the culprit as it corrodes badly. Hope this helps. Pete.Wink
