I use RAC for general breakdown, but bear in mind both they and the AA have an "exclusion zone" for xx miles near/around the Nurburgring Dry

So for 'ring use (not to mention recovery off the nordschleife itself) you should get the ADAC cover. I've heard people even using them for breakdowns in the UK without problems, not sure I'd fall back on that myself though!

I have ADAC (although never used it)

Cheaper than AA + gets you off the Nordschleife.

ADAC for the win! If you break down in the UK they send the AA on their behalf anyway I believe.

ADAC are the German AA, and they're already at the Ring waiting for you to crash.

As it's Europe they do stupidly good Europe-wide (including UK) cover for less than standard AA cover over here iirc, and as I say you end up getting the AA anyway if you're over here.

Fast help for seriously injured Plus members and their families: You suffering, your partner or the minor children of an accident, we pay to certain serious injury (eg blindness) an accident-emergency capacity of 3,000, - € per claim.
Travel Contract Law:
Your right on all trips: For contractual dispute with a travel agent, a collective (eg hotel) or a passenger transport company, we accept the victim's legal costs in Europe to 300,000, - €; for events outside of Europe to 40,000, - € .
The travel contract is valid worldwide legal protection, travel within Europe you are protected by your partner and minor children during the entire duration of each trip, while traveling outside of Europe during the first three months.
Foreign Travel Insurance (not applicable to automobile liability claims):
If you cause an injury abroad, you are - just as your partner and minor children - € insured for property damage and personal injury - against liability risks of daily life with sweeping coverage of 500,000. Your insurance coverage is provided worldwide on all trips abroad during the first 45 days.
Worthwhile extras for you and your partner
Discounts at the ADAC credit card:

Discount at the ADAC auto insurance
The Partner Plus Package
Our special offer for couples at a special price of € 98.70. This means that you pay in addition to the membership fee of € 79.50 only € 19.20 more for your partner.
ADAC Partner Plus Package

Seems very good value for money, maybe too good Unsure

Bumpski.

I'm going to the 'ring again next week and wouldn't mind ADAC cover, on the website it says you need a German address, what have other people done about this?

Google an insurance company that cover you at the ring?

Unless it's changed that's not the case, mate of mine got ADAC and they sent all the documents here. Try calling them up, I seem to remember they had some English speaking people there.

I didn't have an English address, and I got cover pretty easily. They speak English too Smile

In the UK, their partner is the AA. Well, it was when I got cover...

Same. The guy I know actually just took out his general all-year breakdown cover with ADAC, it's a Europe-wide policy and if you happen to break down in the UK they just send the AA out.

And it was cheaper than the AA Hmm

Thanks lads, i've never bothered with UK breakdown before, but usually do for euro trips.
Last year i had cover with the co-operative and they were next to useless when i needed them so thought i might aswell spend a bit more and get decent cover which would cover the 'ring and the UK too. Smile
