I have now got my rods so the engine parts are all off to the engineers next month to be machined and balanced. So I need a clutch to so I can get it all balanced on the crank.

So what are the high boost people running?

I am using a helix paddle with a sachs cover plate, at first I didn't like it as it was a bit either on or off, but have got used to it (maybe bedded in a bit too) and it's fine now, the standard clutch is supposed to be ok too and will only slip if you give it the full 400bhp treatment I hear Ninja

I bought the paddle and cover off here second-hand, although it had done little mileage so don't know price, Lynx can get them for you though I suspect,

I have done between 2k and 3k on mine and although initially not liking it I think it's fine now, the only bugbear is that it can get a little annoying when you are in a traffic jam, but you just have to give it a bit more gas and be precise with your biting point, once on the go it's great,

I think I initially didn't like because of other factors too, my throttle cable was sticking because of the way I routed it and my lower Bbm mount caused too much vibration for my liking at idle and take off, I altered the throttle cable route, oiled it, and changed my bottom mount back to my powerflex one -controversial but my powerflex mount has been on for over four years when the car was standard, low boost and now high boost and it's been fine and still looks as good as when it was initially fitted Smile -this made the car much nicer and smoother to drive

your looking about 6-650 quid for a helix paddle clutch, thats what im thinking of getting as mine was slipping on rollers doesnt seem bad on the road but suspect it will only get worse on the track, i was looking at other paddle clutches but think it will be the helix kit with uprated plaste and bearing coming in about 6-650 although will be bought through the garage meaning no vat so be cheaper!!

GSF or ECP I think,
Same here, Run a Organic one on my Dads car and a padal one on mine, Organic is OK for liught use but with abuse it can slip unlike the padel which is all or nothing

You just buy the Helix paddle and then buy the sach's cover plate separate, which comes with the release bearing attached -same as standard, only bit I'm not sure about is if you can just buy the cover plate on its own or if you have to buy the complete clutch kit

I think you have to buy the whole lot. I know Jims car has a helix cover plate on. I am sure him or paul can explain what its all about

Best to give the fella at Helix a ring, he is very helpful by all accounts. I'm sure if you tell him what you want and what use you intend to put the car to, then he can recommend exactly what you need.

That's what I basically had on mine yes, took some abuse, but it's hard launching that will destroy the cover.

I have found no issue at all with the Helix friction plate and Sachs cover, still running it now with 320ft/lbs going through it. Yes
