Dont know if it warrants a project thread, but I svaed this from the crusher.

Had a call off 'Scrappy Jim', the guy who takes my shells saying 'got a gti if your interested. Rough as and a none runner'. I was expecting a 306 or 206 so was chuffed to see a miami blue K plate 205 gti 1.6 when I turned up. It was dirty as hell and had been off the rd for just under 4 years! Agreed a very reasonable 'scrap value' and had it dropped off (with V5).

Body is showing its age and its done 198k, but I thought id get it running and go from there. Bit of fault finding led to a knackered fuel pump so that changed and with a fresh barrery and 4 year old fuel she fired and ran a treat today.

Needs:

MOT
valet
Passenger door
Door locks
oil pressure!!!
Comedy engine intake sorting

I have a 6 engine sitting in the garage and a spiky converted loom so may be a super quick and cheap 6 conversion. More likely though is it'll be mot'd and make a cool retro daily hack!

On another bright note, i've just brought an MI16 converted, caged, LSD'd 205 gti too...Hmmm

Yeah, very rare now. Have some 1.6 alloys somewhere so will be on them soon. Sounds good too, fitted with a maxnex system and 4 branch.

She's never going to be pretty, but deffinatley worth saving Happy
