there's a metal pipe that goes up across the bock to the lower port on the thermostat housing, also with a tee off to the heater pipes, other heater pipe connects to upper port on thermostat housing.

Thats not really the one you want for a 205 conversion though, IIRC the s16 one is the best as there are outlets for your original 205 heater matrix hoses.

yeah, Miles is suggesting to not use3 the original 205 hoses as they pass close to the large 4 branch manifold, rather plumb them in as per the 306, but with takeoffs for the expansion tank which I guess is that the BBM hose kit does.

edit, yep, as I thought -

BBM 205 gti6 hose kit

So to get this straight, what i need with my GTI6 BBM pipes is the S16 water manifold (is this plastic ?) with the 6 metal water pipe ?

My engine is the VTS so i will be telling Stew that i have this engine.

On Platty's thread he had the water manifolds pipe touching the manifold.

Can you see where im coming from with this pic. This is why i like the idea of using the 6 metal pipe behind the engine. Not sure what set of pipes Platty bought, but i think he got them early in 2009 kind of time.

look like spoox ones, Stew hasn't done that shade of blue.

you need the 6 metal pipe, and the 6 water distribution housing, same as the VTS, no S16 bits.

Xsara isn't any different round the back or the top hose, only the bottom one differs on the phase 2 VTS I think.

Sorry for being thick but whats a 'water distribution housing' ?

Is it the one in your picture you posted or part of the thermostat ?

Cheers

I just think it looks a bit messy with t-pieces in the coolant hoses everywhere. If you use the big heatsheild from a gti6 you can shape that so the original heater matrix hoses tuck behind it when using an s16 distribution block.

Interesting thanks.

I quite like the where the metal pipe goes to the thermo.

So do i take it the two pipes coming of the water distribution housing are for the heater matrix and coolant tank ?

Thanks.

So is the gearbox side pipe is for the coolant tank and the right side is for the matrix ?

Or does is not really matter ?
