Anyone elses 6 here rattle alot when running?
Obviously its just normal wear and tear and age granted. but as a driver, you never going to be able to physically hunt down the source of all the internal rattle and squeeks in the car.

is it something you just gotta live with or anyone have any suggestions on work you can get done where someone goes over all the nuts and bolts on the interior to sound out the rattles.?

My way round this at the mo is to pump up the stereo but then i cant hear my engine purr!

Just trace the source of the squeaks whilst someone else drives.

My Hdi is rolling over 230K this week and i get an occasional glovebox rattle which is usually the contents. That's it.

thats it?...wow. u obvously have very well behaved passengers.

might just do that.. but will mean letting a less-technically gifted driver of a friend drive the car. Sad

My old 6 had Group N (the hard rubber instead of the soft pug ones) on the engines mounts / gearbox mounts and gearlinkages... im sure anyone with them will say the same, it makes the standard rattles / squeaks etc seem very very quite Laugh my ass off

It's even worse when you drop your 4 year old nephew off at nursery and he tells the teacher that Uncle Chris' car is dead fast like a rocket ship and his bum gets tickled. Felt like a right f*cking paedo!
