As above

At low rpm I get driveshaft vibration with disappears as the revs pick up it doesn't normally bother me but when 4 up it's a wee bit worse and slightly annoying!

Someone said to me that my driveshaft requires balancing as in the same sense that wheels require balancing? I have never heard this before.

So I was just wondering if anyone here knows of this and if so where could I get it done

Thanks in advance

Matt

Nah, it will probably be a worn CV joint or slightly unbalanced wheels.

Can it be felt through the steering wheel or is it more through the shell?

It's not throughou the steering wheel. I get it through the gear stick as that moves back and forth slightly Crazy

Probably the bottom engine mount is worn too and that allows the bottom CV to wear more. You'll know when it gets really bad.

I have this exact problem and have been told its a driveshaft. I'm wondering if it could be this now, perhaps I should just chuck it in a garage :S

I have never heard of a front wheel drive drive shaft being balanced. Rear wheel drive ones yeah but never on a front wheel drive car.

They aren't balanced from the factory and don't need to be.

Just to add to this. Could a ball joint be causing the above? I have noticed it's now starting to knock in that area.

So am I right in thinking that the driveshaft wobble could be this balljoint?

Thanks in advance

No it will be the inner CV joint most likely the drivers side. You will need to replace the whole driveshaft as you cant buy seperate CV joints.

Got the same on my 405. Slight shell/shifter rattle on lower revs. Will swap it on engine swap as its not so bad to drive! Doesnt help that much to have grp.n engine mounts hehe.
