Does anyone know the current draw of a normal running gti6?
I'm thinking of dropping to a 55A alternator to save some weight but dont want it to not be upto the job.
It will be for my track car so most un-necessary electrics will be removed, may eventually get a heated windscreen or electric heater blower to get rid of the heater matrix.

Any input will be appreciated. Smile

Cheers Ash and Matt.

I'm intending to do something similar to your setup Ash, but i'll relocate the PAS pump to the a/c area, and rose joint the alternator to act as the tensioner where the alternator normally goes.
Is this the alternator your using?

A bit of a thread revival but i have just got my nice lightweight alternator and there are some instructions saying that it needs a switched live for the 'T' connector.
You don't appear to have any wires going to this bit Ash, is there a reason or have you added some after that photo was taken?

My instructions say that they should both be on with the ignition switch, but one should go through a 1.2W bulb first.
