i would like to bring some colour to my front and rear calipers.

so quick question, can i paint these without removing the brake lines? i ask because i want to avoid bleeding the whole system.

obviously i will need to remove the pads and detatch the calipers from the carriers.

so is it possible?

Just make sure you mask up all the important bits though!

There is a thread somewhere which shows someone doing that!

use "paint caliper"

that way, you'll get everything with paint/paints/painting/painted and caliper/calipers

Try to think how other people may have spelt it (break vs brake)

(I've been using search for about 4 years lol, hardly ever have to start a thread)

i used high temperature Hycot jobbies from ebay on my brembos, wasnt overly cheap!.... shite finish too

you look at them the wrong way they chip

used high temp primer on bare metal, high temp paint and high temp lacquer

anyone recomend something they have used? name of product or that?

from what iv read on internet.... using any spray tins is pretty much a no no. I was wanting to be able to lock the brembo sticker in using clear paint lacquer Dry

just clean the caliper with brake cleaner, rub some fine sandpaper over it so the new paint can stick, clean again then paint. its simple and easy. i dont take the calipers off and just paint what you can see. i also only use red caliper paint (from a tin with small paint brush) so is already high temp safe. it looks good and i just give it another coat 1ce a year or so to keep it fresh.
ive been known to do it without even takin the wheel off. its lasted me 6 years so im happy. Big grin

lol yea. im not a perfectionist but it looks good enough. at the end of the day, its just brake calipers and i dont have the time or money to be shelling out for powder coating or stripping them from the car etc, etc Smile

Indeed. If I get some black gloss cyclones, I may paint the calipers too! Not sure what colour yet though! Red I suppose seems popular for china! Maybe yellow?

Shit! I was thinking of using a hammerite high temp rattle can! I guess I'm going to have to use a brush now? Sad

I thought a rattle can would have given a better finish?
