Right I have issue with front wipers, basicly they only worn when I keep the switch pushed down in what would be the "one touch" single sweep position OR if the switch is on the second speed position.
Car is a Ph3 Gti6 on a 99'
I have read loads of info on here with ref to this problem and have had the wiper motor off cleaned the track till its so clean and shiny its unreal, I have continuity across all three prongs with the wiper motor in the park position.
I have tried another switch, another pair of relays, all the fuses are fine.
I have looked at the wiring diagram in the haynes book of lies which to be frank is worse than useless !
SO, what is it that controls the different motor speeds and the "one touch" single wipe function, also when I pull the stalk toward me for the washers to work only the washers work and the wipers do not sweep, this really is starting to p*ss me off now lol, any advice will be gratefuly received.

Cheers

Tris

Well if it does the whole sensor assy has gotten up and walked along with the mask that it would sit behind on the windscreen, perhaps theres another load of gash wiring hanging around in the roof linning that would have gone to it lol, I think the previous owner had a bit of a blue bulb and neon fetish, its taken me ages to get everything back to std, seriously though it doesnt have rain sensing wipers on it

Right guys I owe you all an apology, I was poking arount the roof linning today and guess what I found.... yep thats right another loom with a socket on the end of it an it comes out right above the rear view mirror, only thing is I have no rain sensor or any kind of attachment to fix it on the screen, nor is there a blackout / mask for it to all hide behind so I guess it must have the wrong screen in it lol, time to get some more parts :-(
