Yes should be fine, the trailing arm will slide out eventually - just be sensible, if you're using a sledgehammer and lumps of iron are flying off then it's probably best you stop.

I think I spent about £70 on parts to refurb mine, which included the seals and bearings.

Use a copper headed hammer otherwise you'll damage the arm.

Yes they were all from Pug. As I was sacrificing my torsion bars for bigger ones I actually hammered the threaded ends of those, which did the same job without having to damage the arms themselves.

i put a bolt in the double ended stud side of torsion bar and hammer out that way

it saves any damage to trailing arm, where offset washer is supposed to fit Smug
