You might need to bend the hangers slightly or rotate the centre section so it doesn't catch the heatshields Wink

How much clearance do you have between the exhaust and the beam?

I have uprated rubbers on the backbox and a standard rubber on the centre section.

I bet it is catching slightly on the beam Yes
I had to rotate the centre section and use a mixture of rubbers to get the clearance.

They are powerflex ones I got off ebay ages ago. Don't have a link though but they should still be available.

i found using old saggy exhaust mounts helps sometimes in getting exhaust sitting nicely

i had the same problem, there is a bracket which holds the back bumper on, it is very close to the back box, mine only made the noise when warm, the system was expanding with heat and just touching the bracket.

well had another look at this exhaust today and still no joy. will have a look at the bumper bracket tomorrow incase that at fault.

i have spoken to demon tweeks today and i have got me car booked in for saturday for them to have a look.they said it might be a faulty exhaust. if it is faulty and they havent got anymore in stock, what would you guys suggest for another exhausy system which is fairly quite like the jetex is?

right guys i got a problem with my jetex backbox. i bought this system assuming it is all stainless steel which is what it say on the website . but i now notice there is corrosion on the backbox appearing and the black paint on the box is coming off to.

i have rang tweeks up and i got to take it in on saturday for them to see. would i be right in thinking the backbox is stainless steel to?

Jetex seem to do all backboxes in mild/low grade stainless probs for sound. I wouldn't worry.

Try bending the back bracket down. It will only make a noise if it has been fitted out of line but it is an east fix.

My s/s Powerflow system with two silencers was just as quiet as a Jetex system.

As for the corrosion, iirc Jetex provide a cheaper mild steel version, and a more expensive stainless steel version.

I'd be interested to hear what they have to say about the backboxes. Mate has just bought a Jetex for his Volvo and the backbox on that is black painted mild (I think it's mild) too.

As far as I can tell, Jetex offer a lifetime gurantee against corrosion or breaks on the system we have, so I guess it doesn't matter that much what it is made of!

The Jetex system is made of stainless steel, it is made of T400 Stainless Chromian, the back box is also painted black.
I don't think this is a top notch grade of stainless hence why the back box is painted black, however I actualy prefer this as I think it looks better behind the bumper.
And as has been mentioned they have a lifetime warrenty.

Sorry for the slight O/T, but better that than a new thread.

I've been looking for a lighter exhaust than the weird aftermarket one I have at the moment, but don't want anything loud at all, just stainless, light and corrosion-free.

Looks like Jetex is the one to go for Smile

However looking around they do the Jetex sports cats as well. Are these worth it for a n/a car? They're quite a lot extra so I wouldn't want to get one for no reason, or is a de-cat the way to go? Very much not my area of expertise, so any advice is much appreciated Smile

O.
