Well my boot button stuck in today so after some WD40 managed to get it free'd, but it only comes out half way!

The boot won't shut, removed the 8 torx bolts to get to the assembly and still can't get it pushing out more than half way, even gentle persuasion with the hammer wouldn't do it!

After looking, there's a rod that's attached to a spring which pushes on the button from the inside. There's also another rod leading to the drivers side of the car, i assume this is for the Central Locking

Any ideas?

f*cking arsehole!! Turns out the whole push mechanism is french and very susceptible to dirt! We've now got the impossible task of getting a bent rod through a hole which doesn't want to move!

Fecking forum's been down all afternoon as well Roll eyes

Have a better look, mine did this whilst it was icey/cold weather, i managed to get the button back out but the boot wudnt shut

Took the inside panel off and noticed a small metal rod was floating around, stuck it back into its holder and it was fine

Can't remember mate it's really old, think i got the pic from a smartpunk forum thread about hotties.

And mine's past that stage, the long bit of the button that slips back and forth in the housing is actually damaged so if it's pushed too far it spreads out and it's like trying to get a square peg in a round hole....Thank you though Smile
