the dirve shaft should go through a cast metal bracket.
1. On this there are two small nuts that need loosening.

2.this needs turning as on the other end there is off centre brakets, or just undo them completely if next step doesnt work.

3. hammer the driveshaft out by hitting it out from within the bracket.

Yeah the nuts might be off, but have you knocked the bolts back through? They are angled to hold the bearing into the engine mount and can stick a bit.

Which bit are you hitting by the way?

Failing that take the mount off the engine and buy another mount (cheap second hand). Make sure its got a good bush in it though.

Do you have to remove the speedo sensor or not? Can't remember, but I do remember having the same issue on mine. Might be worth taking it out as its only one bolt. Take out the spindle/cog thingy too.

I really can't remember if it was the issue though as I did a saxo box at the same time...

Nope just hit it within the mount with a big flat headed object to get it to come out - or undo the mount from the engine and take the whole lot off Wink

you dont want to smash the shit out of the bearing so be carefull, it shouldnt take much force to come out at all if nothing is holding it in

It sounds like the shaft is f*cked anyway from first post.

Having done loads of these all I can say is be patient. Some are a right pain but keep hitting it and it will give. Could help to give it a good soak of Wd and then attack it a few hours later if it still wont move.

If it does take a good smacking watch you dont damage the outer lip otherwise when it does come loose it wont want to fit through the housing.
