Got laquer peeling off my cherry red rallyes bonnet so instead of getting it resprayed, was looking at getting a black bonnet and doing the mirrors and spoiler in gloss black to add to it!

Anyone done this with their red 306?

Yer I was reading your project thread earlier, quite interesting!

Sticking with a gloss black bonnet though! Dare to be different!

Dennis has a Matt black FG bonnet on his rallye(pictured above), mine will soon be sporting a matt black bonnet/boot/roof, may paint it gloss black instead tho to brighten it up.

If you are going for that sort of look matt black will look best. IMO it will need bonnet pins (like above) to finish it off.

It's only due to the fact I don't wanna get it resprayed due to cost and the new cherry red paint would probably be brighter than the existing paintwork!

Chris, what's this bonnet you got for sale like?

Its one of these pics thats a decent pic of it, but were taking to long to load up on this slow connection so i just stuck the 3 up.

Got the normal stone chips and could do with a light polish as few light scratches, but is still very red!

And it's just a normal metal bonnet? Do the pins connect up to something? Whereabouts are you?

I know it's not a Gti-6 but it's still cherry red, I had a bit of a bump in my old 306 due to a police car driving WITHOUT due care and caution Crazy (story for another day) , couldn't find myself a replacement cherry red bonnet and didn't really have the cash to get one sprayed at the time so I went for the cheaper matte black approach Whistle

Haha, I always prefered the term "tank". With the 1.9 non turbo diesel engine it certainlly moved like one. I know she doesn't quite look the part but it was my first car and I loved her anyways

you would need to fit the pins to your slam panel, i used holes that were there already and didnt need to drill new holes, im in Perth Scotland which is other end of the world so no use!
