Hi. Just bought new handbrake cables left and right and was looking for some advice.
How hard are they to fit? does anyone have any pics of how they go on? If there fairly easy i will fit them in the next few days but if there a pain i will leave them until its a little warmer
regards Ritchie

They aren't too bad. The left side is more difficult as the cable runs behind part of the exhaust heatshield. I removed that heatshield and was able to move it back enough to get sufficient access.

When you remove the old cables, tie a piece of string to the lever end pull the cables through from underneath. Tie the string to the new cable so you can pull it back through from inside the car. Wink

I found the right hand side more difficult, mainly because it runs in a C shaped recess on the tank brace that required prising apart to swap out the cable, then clamping back into 1 piece.

The LHS took me about 20 minutes start to finish, and half of that was finding my screwdriver.

Thanks for the replys Smile. I got the passenger side done and it was a little bit of a pain as suggested, the heatshield was a bit off a problem but once that was moved it all went well.
Driver side to do maybe today or tommorow.
