I've searched through the forum looking for the same symptoms but nothing quite matches. Basically, under general driving (straight) I get a deep whirring sound. This vibrates through the cabin but not enough be annoying.

On right turns/bends the noise and vibration decreases (weight being shifted onto the passenger side) but on left turns/bends (weight being shifted onto the drivers side) the noise and vibration increases.

I've jacked up the car and the drivers side is pretty difficult to turn by hand.

Would this point to a wheel bearing?

Or could it be the intermediate shaft bearing?

Or both? Huh?

does sound like a wheel bearing, driveshaft intermediate bearing tends to change sound under power/torque applied than direction/weight shift

could be the tyres too.

If it's more of a low rumble it's the wheel bearing Yes

I've tried various different tread patterns attached to various different wheels, and all have made no difference.

I'll get the wheel bearing swapped and go from there.
