Been thinkin about gettin some decent sound in the golf for a while now. Got an mp3/dvd/bluetooth all singing, all dancing head unit fitted but all standard components. Still got a 12" boxed JBL sub in the cellar that was fitted in the 6 but it needs a new amp. I'm thinking a propper monoblock amp and my search has revealed this- clickity click. Any opinions? Huh?

Don't know anything about that one but my hunch is that it's probably shit. High "claimed" watts at only 70 quid sounds pikey tastic.

I have an Alpine MRD-M300 for my Alpine sub and it's more than capable at providing tight punchy bass. Think it's only rated at 300w RMS @ 2ohms, and was about 250 quid new!

utter shit

fyi, the RF monoblock I got here that pushes about 1800rms costed almost 15 times as much LOL

this it what you get when you buy one of those cheap mega ultra supah high powered pieces of shit:
claiming to be a 2channel that should give 1500watts..

opened up:

(and after some testing we came to the decision that it probably gave about 2x 50watt) Erm?

i honestly hate when cheap audio companies have stupidly high "MAXX WATT 1,0000000!" etc etc, all of my old audio was all based on RMS as above, JL audio subs (very nice quality) and Phoenix gold Amps Love (not overlly expensive i would imagine compared to Mr Dragoons Razz but still very expensive at the time LOL)

Agreed, I bought a Genesis Profile Sub Amp recently and it's got plenty of power for my needs plus good sound quality. Wasn't expensive 2nd hand.

true that, you can do great deals 2nd hand

and like I said before if you want something new, check RE-audio, very good stuff for a decent price.

The new PG and RF are far from what they used to be.

My old rockford system used to be the nuts - cost me a fortune and took me days to install - did use some PG stuff a few years back but then lost interest / grew up LOL

You get what you pay for in my book so if its cheap its usually for a reason
