Hi all, i can be travelling in 4th or 6th gear between 2500 and 4000 rpm put my foot down and the revs will pick up and the speed will slightly pick up and then the revs will come back down in sync with the speedo. My thoughts are clutch slip and I'm replacing the clutch in the next 6 weeks just need to get Xmas out of the way. The only thing that slightly baffles me is that it doesn't always do what is said above and it's only in 4th or 6th surely if the clutch was slipping it would be in every gear at any rpm instead of every now and again?

It could well be just on the limit, It's torque that makes them slip so keep the rev up or don;t load the drivetrain and it should be fine.
