Me again LOL

From previous threads i have made, i have mentioned the way the car smokes weridly

from cold start up it will smoke (as expected), however upon going for a decent run and then leaving the idle it will blow clear, then after 2 mintures of sitting idle it will start blowing smoke again and it smells very rich

A mechanic friend said this is why its smoking, its unburnt fuel and the ECU/Engine doesnt know whether to run rich/lean, hence it blowing clear then back on to smoky again

What sensor is this? ive just bought a CTS sensor and going to try that later, anything else it could be

bearing in mind in the past few months the car has had a new CAT and a brand new bosch lambda sensor

also to note when the car was on diagnostic it showed the coolant temp sensor working ok with it matching the gauge and upon unplugging it dropped to -40 degrees

If the lambda is permanently faulty.. when car goes closed to open loop it will try the lamda three times at different cycles before it logs fault agen and ignores value.

in other words.. change your lambda!

with a lambda fault idle will run between 11 & 12:1 afr... causing the mist on condensation.

plug it back in + ecu re=set.

my engine note changed quite a bit since remembering to plug the lambda back in and re-fitting the cat.

it's using less fuel now Big grin

and sounds evil on WOT Ninja
