The part number for the ones ive got are on page 1. After a brief visual inspection they look identical. These were sent to me from eurocarparts online. I will get my vernier and tape measure out before i begin work on them at the weekend in that case. Where did you get yours from?

The old ones are really in a bad state, probably original so they are 12 odd years old and done 157k - im itching to change them because i suspect its these that are causing my steering to feel (for want of a better word) crap. I cant even move the ball joints on the new ones by hand they are that stiff. The old ones as soon as you remove the tre from the strut they are ultra loose and simply drop down with no resistance in the joint whatsoever. Also i can feel 'give' in them if i rock the steering wheel back and forth at stand still with the engine switched off.

Will keep you all updated on my progress and how it feels after i get them on and get it tracked. Ive got a few symptoms im hoping this will cure. Vague steering feel, wandering, vibrations at 100+ (on my private runway). I remember how good the steering was on this when i got it and hopefully this will solve it and make it feel tight again.

I just wondered if it was gti6 arms you have. As the ones I got from ecp are the correct ones for a phase 1 vts rack

Started this today and got both arms out and unfortunetly for me one of the threads on the pair of new tie rods is well over tollerance. Both the old ones and one of the new ones measure up as around 11.92mm but the other new one is measuring around 12.17mm making it very tight on the thread. I did try a little persuasion but its very stiff.

Eurocarparts have agreed to replace the part for free but means I will have to hassle someone for a lift down there as the car is on axle stands now.

This is just typical of my luck.
