I had no choice! ¼mile downhill. I think there was a 5m stretch by someones drive where there wasn't ice. Mumble grumble.

Had a lovely drift on round the bend into the Unit. 3rd gear actual sideways. Sideways in my car!

I've got Conti T800's and they're brilliant. Loads of grip, shockingly so.... back end is out everywhere but you have the grip to accelerate out, which makes is very rewarding. 4 of these would be brilliant, but I went halves with a mate so only have the driving wheels.

They're brilliant though, I'll definitely be buying another two next year so then I'll have a set of 4 for the following year

winter tyres aren't just for snow, they are for temperatures below 7*c - I'd like to see them become a legal requirement between November and March Yes

Finally got mine put on today. I've only done 50 miles on them but I couldn't agree more.

Car feels much, much more planted. Can't believe how much more secure it feels. Smile

BTW I checked all the usual suspects last night looking for a set for my neighbour - appears there's no winter tyres of any brand to be had anywhere for love nor money

Well finally got some decent snow. It's very nearly like driving on a wet road in fresh snow. Simply awesome amount of grip!

Due to me slightly foolishly asking a local carer/nurse agency if they'd like a hand i've now done 130 miles in up to 8" of snow. Imagine i've been sworn at loads as I sailed past pretty much anything else up and down countless hills around Gloucestershire.

Hill start on a 1:10 in 4" of fresh snow. No spinning up FTMFW

well, it saves any possible damage to 2 of my cyclones Wink

plus i'm a bit of a perfectionist and wanted a respectable looking wheel, even if they will only be fitted in the winter weather LOL

I may just say feckit and get some on a spare set of C5 wheels after christmas, see if I can get Emyr to bring his Costco card down Happy

Bri, are those the winter specific ones? got on ok with the summer version but wasnt sure the tread pattern would work in snow.
